Pumpkin Day
The diversity of pumpkins, tubers and more

Sunday, October 12, 2025
Start: 11 am - 5 pm
Location: Helikoniensaal in the Bohnenkamp House, winter quarters and connecting corridor
Today, everything at the Botanical Garden revolves around pumpkin plants and other special features of autumn! The pumpkin, now available in numerous varieties from all over the world, was cultivated by the indigenous peoples of Central and South America as early as 8,000 years ago. In addition to being a treat for the palate, pumpkin carving plays a special role. A garden rally for young and old alike takes visitors on a journey through the autumnal beauty of the Botanical Garden, and there is more to discover and try out with tubers and other plants. For those interested in learning more about pumpkin plants, a guided tour with a small tasting is offered at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Feel free to bring your children or grandchildren – we and our circle of friends look forward to your visit!
Participation is free of charge.
